Welcome to Pt. 2 of my Summer Sewing Series, where I will teach you how to crop-a-top.
Class takes place on August 27th from 6-8pm. Limited to 10 spots.
THIS CLASS IS NOT FOR NOVICES! Must know how to thread your machine and sew a straight line. You must bring in a t-shirt and only a t-shirt. No silky fabrics or oxford shirts or anything but a classic t-shirt.
Required materials/supplies:
- Sewing machine and bobbins.*
- Standard needle or stretch/jersey needle AND double needle.*
- Rotary cutter or good fabric shears (I recommend Ginghers).*
- T-shirt you'd like to crop. You may bring in multiple options in case you get the hang of it quickly and have time to do multiple.*
- Thread matching your project, at least two spools.*
- An iron (Please bring if you have one. I will have a few for use, but the more the merrier... you simply CANNOT sew without an iron).
- 6x24 ruler or 2x18 ruler (I will have a few on hand, this tool isn't completely necessary, but I swear by these rulers and use them almost daily in a myriad of ways).
- Cutting mat (the space we will be using has access to cutting mats, but I highly recommend purchasing one of these if you want to continue to do these types of projects properly at home).
Above are the required and recommended supplies necessary to complete the project professionally. I have put an asterisk next to the supplies you absolutely need. The rest are optional, but I absolutely recommend having them in your arsenal if you want to be a serious and professional seamstress.
